This summer, while vacationing in a seaside town in North Carolina, I was wandering the gallery of a gift shop on the boardwalk, browsing all the rows of goofy knick-knacks and electronic scratching posts for sale, when I saw her standing there. When: OG Arcade Edition Guitar Hero! I rocked again like I did in the mid-2000s, pounding on the little red, yellow, green, orange and blue “notes” as if my life depended on it, to wrestle the car’s “bullish march” a few times, and then definitely off me. The people around there had some strange expressions. But who cares? I’m on vacation!
In 2009 Metallica had their own version of the game, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and now above you can see some of the mockup sessions the band did for the game. The group can be seen running in Puppet Master with these nifty gadgets, and you may have seen actor Andy Serkis preparing to play Gollum in the Lord of the Rings films.
